Happy Spring!

Happy April.... This month we will be gearing up for AIMS testing. If you would like to send in a snack for the class for the week of April 11, please let me know.
The following are some things we are working on in class for the month of April.

In Math this month we will work on fractions/decimals/percent. The students are using the paper math journals and it is working out favorable.

In Reading, we continue to do a story a week. This week we will concentrate on non-fiction text and how to find answers or read between the lines. We will also write a persuasive essay about using water bottles.

In Language, we will write a story that uses voice. The students will write their own autobiography. I will send home some questions to answer when your child was a baby.

In Spelling, we continue the routine of a paragraph test on Thursday and Friday a word test with some skills taught in the week.

In Science we will finish up weather and move on to vertebrates and invertebrates. We will also dissect a flower and know the parts of a flower.

In Arizona, we will talk about WWII and how it effected Arizona, and what life was like. If you have an older family member that could speak about the depression we would love for them to come in!

We will be going on a field trip on April 29th to Old Pueblo Archaeology. This is a dig and students will actually get to dig to find artifacts. I will be sending more information home about this later.
